In conclusion, It is fair to say that television played a major role in giving Trump, and his opponents platforms to present their ideas and get their messages across worldwide. Repeatedly the media said that Donald Trump was never going to become President, but after the results of the 2016 presidential election, Trump has the last laugh. After examining the past 2016 election, history of presidential elections, the influence and media coverage and coverage after the election, it is evident that Trump gained more exposure from TV networks and TV networks had a boost in ratings because of the unusual way that he ran his campaign.

Furthermore, television networks continue to broadcast news surrounding Trump even after the election, as previously mentioned in the Coverage Post Election section of the website. As well, Trump continues to be the center of broadcast for television networks. Overall the past 2016 election is one that will probably go down in history, based on the amount of media Trump was a part of and the television networks gaining higher ratings than previous elections.Trump's oddly marketable personality helped him succeed in becoming the 45th President of the U.S. Even though many people and television network personalities doubted that Trump would become the 45th President of the United States, he ended up proving all of the doubters in the media wrong and continues to battle with the way that the media has covered him throughout the election and continuously after. The battle between the media and Trump will continue until they come to a compromise on how to work with one another. For now it is evident that all of the coverage throughout the election and post election benefited both Trump and television networks.
